Africa is the continent most affected by HIV. Communities throughout Africa have taken action to reduce new HIV infections and care for those affected. The core of our Linking Organisations' work is community engagement and mobilisation to increase access to HIV prevention, care, treatment and support.
Here HIV is concentrated among people who are at higher risk. This includes injecting drug users, sex workers and men who have sex with men.We work to strengthen the links between communities and clinical services, including sexual and reproductive health, prevention and care.
Our work in this region focuses on reaching people at higher risk of HIV to advocate against human rights violations, and promote and provide accessible services. This includes transgender people, sex workers and men who have sex with men.
