Civil society representatives are invited to provide crucial input to a meeting that the Global Fund Board Communities and NGO delegations are organizing on 19-20 May. At this meeting they will discuss how to best support civil society and communities in the current pilot and the future roll out of the GF¹s New Funding Model (NFM).

This week the Alliance hosted a workshop to explore practical ways for our Linking Organisations to better understand their results. As the Global Fund to Fight to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria launches its fourth replenishment bid for US$ 15 billion, Arben Fetai, Senior EU Policy Advisor at Stop AIDS Alliance, a joint initiative by the International HIV/AIDS Alliance and STOP AIDS NOW! writes about the events in Brussels this week which highlighted the critical need to defeat the three diseases.
Yesterday’s announcement that the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is to target $15 billion to effectively fight the three diseases is a welcome one. There can be little doubt that the Global Fund has, in the words of Bill Gates, “started to change the trajectory of epidemics”.

As the High Level Panel on the post-2015 framework prepares to submit its final report to the UN Secretary General, we outline our position on how to ensure progress on the HIV and related health needs of future generations.
Our annual directors meeting last month was the first face-to-face opportunity to reflect collectively on the recently launched new global strategy for the Alliance, which sets out how we aim to help bring an end to AIDS and sustain community action.
