As the Global Fund Board prepares to meet (12-14 September) a new funding model is being developed so that money to help end AIDS, TB and malaria can begin to flow again in 2013. Here we highlight some of the options being considered and the key principles we believe should be upheld during the decision making process.
There is a growing acceptance that an integrated approach to HIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) is essential to improved HIV and SRH outcomes. The Alliance will be sharing its growing experience at the Integration for Impact Conference in Kenya this month.
For many people living with HIV, punitive laws for sex work or sodomy offences make it impossible for them to access HIV services. As Ministers gather in New York this month to agree how the Commonwealth must reform, the Alliance’s ‘What’s preventing prevention?’ campaign reasserts its appeal for Commonwealth countries to repeal laws that impede effective responses to HIV.
