The Alliance’s Elden Chamberlain spoke at an event in Boston on 15 December, held in recognition of International Human Rights Day, and highlighted stigma and discrimination faced by men who have sex with men in Eastern Europe.

Last month, a number of States proposed an amendment to remove an explicit reference to sexual orientation from an important UN resolution on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions. The amendment was passed on 16 November.
The Alliance, in association with the UK AIDS consortium, held a very successful seminar last week focused on the issues surrounding the measurement and improvement of value for money of HIV/AIDS interventions.

To mark the launch of aids2031’s book 'AIDS: Taking a long-term view', Alvaro Bermejo, Executive Director of the Alliance, participated in a seminar at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine on World AIDS Day yesterday.
A new team of French speaking stigma trainers has been established by the Alliance’s Regional Technical Support Hub for West, North and Central Africa to help reduce stigma and discrimination.
