Aids Alliance

At this years’ 42nd Union World Conference on Lung Health in Lille, France, the Alliance will host a symposium titled: ‘Tackling HIV and TB through partnerships’.

The seminar will bring together programme managers, local and international experts in TB and HIV, government officials and academic researchers to share experiences, best practices and approaches to addressing TB and HIV through partnerships.

It will highlight the role of partnerships between different stakeholders, including civil society and governmental institutions, for tuberculosis control and integration with HIV focussing on: partnerships for technical support; strengthening the response to MDR TB through public–private partnerships; scaling up TB HIV integration through community partnerships, capacity building and HIV testing and counselling and essential steps towards integrated TB/HIV Advocacy.

Presenters will include representatives from a number of Alliance linking organizations including Lepra India, Alliance Ukraine, KANCO (Kenya) and from the Alliance International Secretariat.

The session will be open to all conference delegates and will be held on the Saturday 29 October 2011, 8:00-9:00 A.M.
