Mapping the way forward for the goal, targets, indicators and key principles.

Following the finalization of global, regional and country consultations on the new post-2015 development goals and the reports submitted by the High Level Panel of Eminent Persons and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network to the UN Secretary General, discussions have kicked off about what the new goals, targets, indicators and key principles should look like for the new post-2015 Sustainable Development Framework.

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance has played a leading role in the different consultations, ensuring harmonized messages and recommendations between organizations and partners working in the field of HIV, tuberculosis and malaria as well as liaising with broader health and development organizations and networks at the global and country level.

To inform more concrete and targeted discussions around the new health goal, targets and indicators for the new Framework, this discussion paper was developed to provide policy makers as well as representatives of UN agencies and civil society with some concrete recommendations on how to work towards the formulation of more harmonized, concrete and measurable post-2015 targets and indicators on health.
