Most users of the AIDS knowledge sharing website came from Latin America and the Spanish speaking Caribbean, but there were also visitors from 88 countries in other parts of the world.
More than 720 documents are now online and almost 300 organisations are registered.
Last year the portal held an open debate on sex work. On 10 March another forum on transgender people and HIV/AIDS will be launched, enabling discussion of issues around sex work and vulnerability, institutional violence, abuse at health centres and gender identity.
The priority this year will be to strengthen users’ ownership of the portal while continuing to increase the number of registrations and documents uploaded. Users will be encouraged to upload their organisation’s tools, documents, news and events and to manage their organisation’s profile.
In May the regional Forum on HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (FORO) will be held in Lima, Peru. The portal will provide updated information and coverage of this event.
