This month we hear from Key Correspondent, Henry Neondo, on safer sex awareness events and free condom distribution in 34 cities around the world.

The Los Angeles-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) commemorated International Condom Day - an informal holiday observed alongside Valentine's Day on February 14th - with safer sex awareness events and free condom distribution in 34 cities around the world.

More than 500,000 condoms were distributed over the weekend, most of which were AHF's own 'LOVE Condom' brand that carried the message "LOVE yourself, LOVE your partner".

Michael Weinstein, President of AIDS Healthcare Foundation, said: "The success of AHF's International Condom Day events around the world is a very important statement about AHF's commitment to global primary prevention. We are as serious about preventing HIV transmission as we are about providing lifesaving treatment".

"There seems to be a natural connection between condoms, testing, and treatment. Our message of 'Love Yourself, Love Your Partner' means protect yourself, protect your partner, get tested and stay well with treatment."
