The international secretariat in Brighton links disparate people and organisations all over the world. Therefore, the communications needs of the Alliance are not unusual in any international organisation of its size. It needs UK phone lines, reliable internet connections and mobile devices such as laptops and mobile phones, 3G modems and VPNs between country offices.
The Alliance worked with 02 to ensure that precious resources were spent efficiently: “Communication is key to the Alliance, but IT and telecoms are not our core business” says Paul Higgins, Head of Information and Communications Technology, at the Alliance.
