On 1 December the International HIV/AIDS Alliance in China will be presented with the prestigious ‘Loyalty Award’ for its dedication to working the community and people living with HIV.

After rigorous selection Alliance China was chosen from many nominated organisations. This reflects its work with local communities in Guangxi, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces in mobilising resources and advocacy to make HIV prevention and treatment more effective.

Alliance China was nominated by a community group for people who inject drugs, who were able to build their capacity thanks to a grant from Alliance China.

The aim of the award is to highlight this work in order to encourage government institutions and the private sector to engage more in tackling HIV.

The ‘Loyalty Award’ was established in 2009 by ITPC-China (International Treatment Advocacy Coalition, China) in order to recognise the hard work that organisations like Alliance China do in supporting Chinese grassroots organisations and people living with HIV.
