The initial phase GMS contract was managed by a Management Science for Health (MSH) consortium and expired in September 2012. Watch a short video about their results.
The new contract (GMS 2) is a US government funded contract to support Global Fund grant implementation across 150 recipient countries. It will run for three years with a possible extension for a further two years.
The new contract was re-tendered to a maximum total value of $100 million and the Alliance is part of a consortium that is still led by MSH, and includes PACT, Futures, Abt Associates, Midego as well as the International HIV/AIDS Alliance.
Greg Munro, who led the tender process for the Alliance said: “This is a great opportunity for the Alliance and particularly for our seven Regional Technical Support Hubs who will be uniquely placed to provide high volumes of quality technical support to civil society grantees in the future. They will draw on their database of consultants as well as the extensive knowledge of Global Fund grant implementation among Alliance Linking Organisations across the globe.”
