Community Systems Strengthening - Civil Society Consultation
During February and March 2010, the Alliance and the International Council of AIDS Services Organizations (ICASO) conducted an online consultation together with country-level key informant interviews to solicit views from civil society on the draft framework that was developed to outline community systems strengthening (CSS for short).
The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria has developed the CSS Framework in collaboration with other stakeholders to make it clearer the range of community strengthening activities the Global Fund is mandated to support.
The specific aims of the civil society online and country-level key informant consultation were to:
- Solicit maximum input and feedback from civil society on the content, substance and usefulness of the CSS framework
- Enable dialogue and encourage positive contribution towards improving the framework to ensure it meets the requirements of civil society organizations, key populations and networks most affected by HIV, TB and Malaria
The findings of this consultation were fed into a two-day face-to-face Civil Society consultation meeting held in March 2010 where all the inputs received from civil society were collated and fed into the CSS framework process.
