Photo gallery: Voices of sex workers in Myanmar
In Myanmar, the Alliance and PhotoVoice joined forces to work with communities of sex workers, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people (LGBT), people who use drugs and adolescent girls and young women to enable them to confront stigma and discrimination that prevents them from accessing HIV and sexual and reproductive health services.
The project provided photography training for the groups and then held an exhibition of their photos. All participants were from community-based organisations involved in the Partnership to Inspire, Transform and Connect the HIV Response (PITCH) project, which strengthens their capacity to advocate for equal access to HIV and sexual and reproductive health services.
These photos tell stories of the lives of sex workers in Myanmar, who are demanding protection of their human rights and access to services.
