Pru was a powerful HIV and women’s rights activist. In the early 1990s, Pru was among the first women in South Africa to bravely speak publicly about living with HIV. During the past 25 years, Pru fought fiercely for the rights of people living with HIV, challenging stigma and inspiring many women and girls around the world to lead in the response to HIV.

We offer our deepest condolences to Pru’s family and her many friends and colleagues globally.

Viva Pru! Your legacy lives on. Malibongwe igama lamakhosikhazi [praise be to women]!
