Strengthening HIV-TB Integration in Ukraine

TB is the leading cause of death among people living with HIV.

While both HIV and TB can be treated, this requires timely and close cooperation between HIV and TB services, and can become complex within the vertical structure of health care systems.

Since Alliance programmes aim to reduce the number of deaths from HIV, TB co-infection is a key area of concern for any Alliance Linking Organisation (LO). This case study documents Alliance for Public Health successful initiation of TB integration in Ukraine and offers useful lessons for addressing HIV and TB in the context of LOs’ HIV response.
