How do iNGOs aggregate data?
30 September 2015
As international NGOs (iNGOs) increasingly seek out evidence of their impact, a key challenge is to
determine accurately how many people they reach with their interventions. Donors and decision makers like aggregate or cumulative indicators, as they give a snapshot of an organisation’s reach and progress over time and help monitor broad trends. They are also a simple but powerful way to communicate the organisation’s impact to the public.
This benchmark study of 10 other iNGOs who also deliver multiple services to similar population groups provides valuable learning for different organisations to help them avoid some of the pitfalls experienced by the Alliance and others.
