Finance

In order to achieve their objectives, all organisations need to make the most efficient use of their financial resources. Financial systems and procedures are designed to help an organisation:

  • ensure that management is based on accurately tracked costs for each aspect of its work; so that managers can early on identify financial problems, or opportunities to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • avoid the loss of money or mismanagement of funds, and have contingency procedures to deal with loss of money or mismanagement of funds
  • secure further funding from donors by demonstrating that they have looked after previous funding properly, and used it effectively.
