House of Commons meeting to explore the UK's unprecedented opportunity for global leadership on HIV/AIDS

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance, the Stop AIDS Campaign and the All-Party Parliamentary Group on AIDS are holding a meeting in the House of Commons on 15 June 2005 to explore how the UK can use its Presidency of the G8 and European Union to provide leadership and bring about HIV/AIDS change. Journalists are invited to attend.
On 1 January 2005, the UK assumed the Presidency of the G8 and on 1 July it is set to take over the Presidency of the EU. At the meeting ‘Rising to the Challenge: The UK Government’s leadership on HIV/AIDS in 2005 G8 and EU Presidencies’, policy makers, MPs, and civil society will explore the UK’s unprecedented opportunity to provide global leadership to improve the international community’s response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 15th June from 3.00pm to 5.00pm, House of Commons, Committee Room 10.
