This brochure highlights the work of the India HIV/AIDS Alliance and its lead partners from programmes initiated in 1999 to date. Among the programmes detailed in the brochure are:  
  •  In 2000 a home and community-based care and support programme was started. The programme was the first of its kind in India to mobilise and provide innovative, effective and low-cost care and support. 
  •  In 2002 and 2003 two focussed prevention programmes were initiated – the Frontier Prevention Programme (FPP) and Avahan (India AIDS Initiative)
  • In 2004 a pilot programme in Manipur state focused on care and support and improved access to treatment for injecting drug users and PLHA.
  • In 2006 the Alliance initiated new partnerships in Punjab state with additional programming focused on women and HIV/AIDS.
