Celebrating new partnerships to promote the sexual and reproductive health of young people in Madagascar
28 July 2006

In the last fortnight of June, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Madagascar organised several ceremonies to celebrate new partnerships with local associations and NGOs that will be promoting the sexual and reproductive health of young people aged 10 to 24.
44 local associations and NGOs have signed contracts with the Alliance as part of a sexual and reproductive health project financed by the European Union, which aims to reach approximately 25,000 young people in six months.
The ceremonies provided the Alliance with the opportunity to let people know more about the project, and the associated challenges. Local authorities, such as mayors, village chiefs, health service providers, and representatives of the province’s special delegation president, along with television, radio and newspaper representatives all attended the ceremonies.
