Alliance named as finalist for UK Charity Awards 2006
25 August 2006
The Alliance has been short-listed as a finalist for another set of charity awards – this time, the UK Charity Awards 2006. In June 2006, the Alliance's Frontiers Prevention Project was highly commended in the international aid and development category of the Charity Finance Charity Awards.
The Alliance is a finalist in the charity of the year category, and winners will be announced on 12 September at “the most prestigious awards ceremony in the charity calendar” in the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.
The awards recognise and reward excellence in the management and coordination of charitable activities. They have three aims:
- to honour the outstanding professionals in the many and varied fields of charity management
- to support continuing professional development and contribute towards raising the standards of charity management
- to promote and raise the profile of the charity sector.
The event’s organiser, Martin Davies, confirmed, “the quality and quantity of entries increases year on year, and this year was no exception. The fact that the Alliance has been named as a finalist is a credit to the hard work, dedication and innovation you have brought to the sector.”
