Communicating better about sex

28 September 2006

Improving communication between parents and children is key to the sexual and reproductive health of young people, says the Alliance in Madagascar. With this objective, they organised a three-day workshop in September to explore relationships between parents and children.

The workshop was part of the young people’s sexual and reproductive health project that the Alliance is currently implementing. The first day of the workshop was for the young people themselves (aged between 10 and 18), while the second day was for their parents. On the third day, parents and children met together to share their experiences face to face.

The workshop offered a unique opportunity for parents and children to learn how to communicate better, especially on sexual issues.
