Reflecting on the progress of projects for men who have sex with men in North Africa and the Near East
A regional workshop to share experiences and reflect on programming for men who have sex with men is taking place from 30 October to 4 November as part of the Alliance’s North Africa and Near East regional programme.

Promoting voluntary counselling and testing in the cross-border regions of Senegal

Kédougou Encadrement Orientation – a partner organisation of Alliance Nationale Contre le Sida (ANCS), the Alliance’s linking organisation in Senegal – has launched an ongoing voluntary counselling and testing campaign that aims to make local populations in Senegal aware of the importance of HIV testing.


Celebrations all round for the Alliance in Cote d'Ivoire

The office has been successful in obtaining funding for activities over the next five years, is part way through the process of transferring to an independent, national organisation, and has welcomed a new director.


Animators in action - HIV and STI prevention in the Caribbean

Sherene is an exotic dancer based on the small Caribbean island of Antigua. She is also a Caribbean HIV/AIDS Alliance community animator and visits women working in the local entertainment clubs and bars as part of the Alliance’s prevention programme.


HIV bulletin calls for new advisory panel members

Alliance-supported bi-monthly bulletin HATIP – HIV and AIDS Treatment in Practice – is looking for health professionals who live and practice in Nigeria, China or Cambodia to join its international editorial board.


HIV shows spread awareness

Audiences of nearly 14,000 people have been watching street plays and talking doll shows in the slums of Amritsar, Punjab, facilitated by Alliance India.


Doctors receive training in paediatric care

Alliance India has facilitated paediatric HIV and AIDS care training for medical doctors in Tamil Nadu, to update their knowledge and build their skills in working with children with HIV.

Mainstreaming: examining the reality

Research carried out in Burkina Faso highlights the impact that policy and funding streams are having on mainstreaming HIV into broader development work.


Advocacy strengthens civil society capacity

As part of a commitment to strengthening civil society’s capacity on HIV and AIDS, Alliance India hosted a workshop on advocacy for its lead partners and implementing NGOs.

Unheard Voices, Hidden Lives

This exhibition and book are the result of a multi-country participatory photo project with communities who are key to the HIV epidemic in India, Ecuador, Cambodia, Morocco and Madagascar. The exhibition will be launched online on Monday 13 November.
