New Alliance website developments provide better access to community HIV resources
Welcome to the first issue of the Alliance's Publications Update. We have launched this new quarterly newsletter to bring you regular information about new Alliance resources that are available. If you think it would be of use to a friend or colleague, please forward it to them. They can sign up to receive it by clicking on the subscribe link at the top of this page.
In May this year the Alliance also launched a new and improved publications and resources area on its website. The improvements include a more flexible search function, easier access to PDFs and a faster system for placing orders for printed copies.
However the most significant development has been the adaptation of the publications and resources area into French, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. Visitors are now able to search for, download, and order Alliance publications in these languages as well as English.
Visitors can now also review and rate Alliance publications and resources by adding their own comments to web pages – an addition that will enable future visitors to see how the resources are being used and what people think of them.

Keep the best, change the rest The toolkit contains participatory activities which enable groups of men and women of different ages to explore how gender and sexuality affect their lives. It aims to establish the ongoing involvement of key stakeholders such as chiefs, traditional advisors, teachers, health workers, civil society organisations and religious and other leaders.

Observatoire policy briefing This policy briefing illustrates how civil society organisations play an instrumental role in scaling up effective national HIV responses. The briefing provides a case study that demonstrates how l’Alliance Nationale Contre le SIDA (an Alliance linking organisation) contributed to the response in Senegal. The briefing also demonstrates how NGOs can work successfully with governments, the Global Fund and other national and international stakeholders.
