New online resource centre for India

03 May 2007

The India HIV/AIDS Alliance has set up a new online resource centre to boost sharing and learning among NGOs working on HIV and AIDS in the country. SETU – meaning a bridge in Hindi – aims to share knowledge and learning between the Alliance, its linking organisations, state partners, implementing NGO partners, and others working on HIV and AIDS across India.

Visitors to the website will be able to download resources from the India HIV/AIDS Alliance and other organisations working in India related to HIV and AIDS, gender, government, and international development policies. The resources are organised around key themes including:

  • care and treatment
  • prevention
  • gender
  • civil society
  • HIV and AIDS
  • sexual and reproductive health.

The idea for the virtual resource centre came out of a knowledge management workshop organised by the India HIV/AIDS Alliance in September 2006, with representatives from its linking organisations and state partners. The concept of a virtual resource centre was identified as one of the most effective ways to share knowledge across the Alliance in India, as well as establishing an India-specific resource for external audiences.
