Regional HIV/AIDS Youth Prevention Programme (RYP)

The main goal of this programme is to improve the sexual and reproductive health and psycho-social support to young people. RYP focuses on the sharing, adapting and extending of good practice in HIV prevention and support to young people using community-based, participatory and multi-sectoral approaches in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi.

As a regional programme, the overall RYP programme is managed directly from the Alliance secretariat, but with some in-country organisational and technical support provided by Alliance Zambia directly to RYP’s lead partner in the Eastern Province, ‘Young Happy Healthy and Safe’ (YHHS). This Zambian lead partner is a new NGO whose Director had previously been the key person implementing a youth programme which provides a model of integrated sexual reproductive health programming and work in schools.
