Publications

The Alliance is a leading publisher of resources designed to enable NGOs and CBOs in developing countries respond to the challenges of HIV and AIDS in their communities.

This section of the website brings together over 300 resources produced by the Alliance and its partners including training manuals, policy briefings, good practice guides and CD-ROMs. All resources can be downloaded and many printed publications can be ordered free of charge.

Publication categories

• Technical support publications are training and best practice materials aimed at improving HIV programmes. They are intended for individual trainers and facilitators, training institutions and NGOs/CBOs.
• Lessons learnt reports and studies document the experiences and learning of the Alliance and its partners at international, regional and national levels and are intended primarily for NGOs/CBOs and NGO support programmes.
• Policy reports and briefing papers present the Alliance's policy and advocacy on a range of themes. They are intended for institutions and individuals involved in international and regional policy making.
• Fact sheets on a range of themes provide accurate, accessible information for NGOs and CBOs to support their work in different HIV-related areas.
• Publications about the Alliance provide background information, statistics and case studies about the work of the Alliance and its partners.

Downloading Alliance publications

Use the publication search facility to find publications you are interested in. All relevant publications to your search will appear with thumbnail images and links. To download the publication click on the orange arrow link.
You will need Adobe Reader to view the PDFs. Download the latest version from the Adobe website.

Ordering printed copies of Alliance publications

• All publications that display a shopping cart icon with a plus sign can be ordered. Click on the shopping cart icon to add one or more copies to your shopping basket. You can edit your shopping cart or complete your order at any time.
• When you have finished shopping, click on the ‘complete your order’ button.
• You will then be taken to the online registration form to complete your order. If you have not filled this in before you will need to enter your contact details so we can post your publications to you. If you have filled this in before, you just need to enter your email address and password to complete your order.
• Please note that if you filled in a registration form on the previous Alliance website, the email address and password you used will still be valid; you will not need to register again.

Our publications are provided for free but...

Because it is costly to send printed publications, there is a limit of ten items which can be ordered free of charge. If you wish to order more than 10 please email publications@aidsalliance.org with details and rationale of how your organisation intends to use them. You may be asked to pay a contribution towards the postage if you order more than 10 items.

When will you receive your publications?

Publication orders are processed in one week from the time you place your request online. Delivery to your address will then take the following times:

• UK: up to 3 days (second class post)
• Europe: up to 3 weeks
• Eastern Europe: 4 to 5 weeks
• USA and Canada: 4 to 6 weeks
• Africa, Asia and all other destinations: 6 to 8 weeks.
