| Since the HIV/AIDS Alliance was established in 1993, the global response to HIV/AIDS has changed dramatically, with increases in funding, availability of treatment, knowledge and experience, but also in the number of people living with HIV/AIDS.
This report draws from a two-day workshop in the UK bringing together staff and partners from its 20 programme countries, alongside secretariat staff, to mark the 10th anniversary of the Alliance and reflect on a decade of experience. The workshop enabled participants to share and review their experiences and identify critical lessons learned and recommendations, which were taken forward to a one-day roundtable meeting. Recommendations include promoting activism and leadership in people living with HIV/AIDS, working on gender and sexuality issues and human rights, and pushing policy from below. |
