Alliance News: Prevention – what makes it work
| Alliance News: Prevention – what makes it work (English) 74.6Kb | |
| This issue focuses on HIV/AIDS prevention. The overview argues that while “prevention works”, it is not easy and requires a range of approaches to be used at different stages of the epidemic. Simon Mutonyi, Alliance HIV/AIDS NGO Support Officer working with the Zambia Integrated Health Programme, talks about linking prevention and care in Zambia. The Communities in Action page offers some strategies for helping instigate behaviour change, looking at prevention in terms of individual needs, the social context, and access to commodities and services, with good practice case studies from Cambodia and Ecuador. | |
