In this issue of Alliance News, Beatrice Were, Executive Co-ordinator of the International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS, gives a personal account of voluntary counselling and testing (VCT) and preventing mother-to-child transmission. Beatrice is a mother of three and has lived with HIV for 10 years. Other articles address the benefits of VCT, and the Zambia VCT partnership – a collaboration between donors, NGOs and government agencies working towards an integrated, comprehensive, community-centred approach in Zambia.
