Scaling up testing and counselling services – online toolkit
| HIV testing and counselling services enable people to find out their HIV status, which has a range of benefits for individuals, communities and country populations as a whole. Scaling up these services has a major impact on HIV/AIDS prevention, care, treatment and support.
The Alliance produced this online toolkit in collaboration with the World Health Organization to help achieve its target of providing access to anti-retroviral treatment to 3 million people in resource-limited settings by 2005. It offers guidance on how to plan and implement testing and counselling services in resource-limited settings, with practical tools, examples from the field, and report and article references. It is regularly updated with the latest experience and developments in good practice and lessons learned. Topics include community mobilisation, addressing perceptions, and determining costs and financing. |
