Orphans and other vulnerable children
The Alliance supports children living in communities affected by HIV and AIDS: children who have been orphaned by AIDS, living with HIV, who may be currently caring for sick parents, and children who are in families which have taken in orphans. Our experience shows that children are best cared for within families and communities. To this end, the Alliance has developed a range of publications to help community groups, and the government and non-governmental agencies that support them, to help families cope, as well as publications that share the experience we are gaining in order to advocate for effective approaches.
