| Involving children affected by HIV/AIDS in the HIV/AIDS response is increasingly recognised as being highly effective. It enables the children to support each other, influence their peers and others in the community, and helps build their self-esteem and hope for the future.
This newsletter explores some of the challenges that arise from involving children in HIV/AIDS programmes, and suggests ways to make children’s programmes more participatory. It includes tips such as “Learn to listen to children and young people” and “Find out what is important for children and young people rather than imposing an adult agenda.” |
