I am Yvonne José. I am ten years old. I live here with just my brother Bebito, who is 14.

It was our father who first passed away and then also our mama. There was another child who was left behind and he passed away after just two years. After our mother went, Bebito just cried and cried so much that in the end he could not talk. Now he can hear but he does not speak, so I have to look after him. I cook for him and if he wants water to drink or to bath, I am the one who goes and fetches it. We live the two of us, and go to school every day. I am in grade three. Even Bebito goes to school, as he can hear but he cannot answer.

We get some help from Kubatsirana and the wife of the church pastor. We get exercise books, food and pens. But we do not have soap.

My dream is to study so I can become a nurse to help treat sick people.
