Supporting NGOs and CBOs Responding to HIV/AIDS – Policy briefing No. 1
| Supporting NGOs and CBOs responding to HIV/AIDS: Policy briefing No. 1 (English) 87.1Kb | |
| There are many possible approaches and structures for supporting NGOs and CBOs responding to HIV/AIDS. As a result, NGOs, CBOs, governments and donors are faced with a number of choices – each with their own challenges.
This briefing provides an overview of these choices and challenges, and suggests solutions, drawing on the experiences of the Alliance and its partner organisations. It addresses the questions ‘Why support NGOs and CBOs?’, ‘What constitutes NGO/CBO support?’ and ‘Who provides NGO/CBO support?’, and sets out key lessons learned on issues such as scaling up the response and government-based support. |
